RE: Maybe, maybe not

TJ said, "Palmer is going to do horrible and I mean horrible"

OK maybe some of you guys remember me dogging on Carson Palmer for how crappy he was in Cincinnati.Well I jumped the gun just a tad. I found out Palmer had some injury problems sense 2008. Now that might not be an excuse in the long run but for now it does.

As I said and admit I jumped the gun the first time I heard about the trade. I agree that he was not worth that much a first and second round pick or 2 first rounders if we go to the playoffs. However look a little deeper into what he has done. He has gone to the playoffs before, some quarterbacks are not able to say that. Palmer has also been to the pro bowl and won MVP at the pro bowl. Now I would like for him to bring the interception total all together but, that's a work  in progress.

Carson also has a bright side he has worked with this coach more than once. Coach Jackson worked with him at USC and coach Jackson worked with the receivers in Cincinnati and lets cut him some slack for two reasons. One this is his first game with the raiders when he doesn't really know the playbook. The reason we put hm in this Sunday is because how bad Boller was. Second he has not played in  six weeks. Honestly who is at there best at anything after six weeks of not doing your profession. It will be a little difficult for the next game perhaps but, give him some time then make your decision.

FR: Is he worth that much

Just recently the Oakland Raiders acquired a one Mr. Carson Palmer from the Cincinnati Bengals. Wait what, we picked a quarterback who went 2-12 last season then wined about a wanting a trade then threatened retirement. This guy hasn't even smelled a super bowl and he isn't even in his prime. Now granted he has a all time QB rating of 86.9 and he has passed for for 62% life time, but is he worth two first round draft picks?

Hold up, didn't we just lose our owner (R.I.P Al) who the hell made this decision. Why did they think he was worth two first round draft picks. This guy is 31 years old he wont last forever. I think he isn't worth more than one first round draft pick and maybe a player. Now that gives us 4 quarter backs and what if Palmer does fucking amazing does Jason Campbell get kicked to the kerb.

Now I am not going to dog this guy all day there are some benefits to us getting Palmer. Unlike Campbell Palmer has been to the pro bowl and the playoffs twice. Having experience in that department does help in terms of a winning season. The best thing about it is that he coach Hue Jackson has gotten to know Carson Palmer both at USC and the Bengals organization. Hopefully this QB is worth every penny.

Finally there is a memorial in this mans name. As one of the most inspiring figures in this countries history we should have had a memorial for Dr. King a long time ago. The King family has to be very happy and proud of this memorial.

Martin Luther King Jr. set the example for all of us, not just in the African American community, but all races and genders. I wonder why it took them so long? Even though he is not a president or a former solider, don't you think that he has earned and deserved this for along time.

Dr. King left the trademark of  respect one another regardless of race. With his "I have a dream" speech.  Being a civil rights activist a big target was painted on his back for standing up for what he believed in. Even to the end of his life his message remains. Sense then we have had a African American president, A Latino woman on the supreme court, and even the sports community. Even into the music industry expressed in every way.

This memorial in my opinion is long over do. A man of his caliber should  have been giving this honor years ago. To this day he has inspired hundreds of thousands to do something that will make a difference. That memorial will leave an example and another way to remember him and his legacy.

RE: Strong Subject

From TJ's blog:
I feel for your dad dude. That really does suck when you don't have work. I do know family and loved ones that are unemployed. I'm sure that has to be going through the many unemployed people not just in America but everywhere.

The unemployment rate in the U.S is at 9.1%. That is to many people to be without jobs. All the money that one percent of America gets and we still don't have a damn thing. Now the president has asked for the raising of taxes, but how far will that go. Well people in New York, Boston, and even Oakland has stood up in there own way.

It shows true bravery to be able to go out there and protest even it is friendly. Even Mr. Sutherland has shown the courage  to go out there and be apart of something that big. This is also something that is going to affect us when we graduate from school. We are slowly rolling are way into deeper financial problems. So many things can go wrong if you loss house or in dept to begin with. It takes volunteers like the people in Oakland to make a change.

It truly shows as well when  students become active in this cause. Knowing that they are apart of this system and it can only get worse. Being active will send a message to the people "in charge", that we are here and we want something to change.

CE: devoted

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V01Pt0Be-Zs&feature=youtube_gdata

For almost two weeks now people have been occupying wall street.  They have been camping in local parks trying t make a point and waiting for a change. Robert Segal is a wall street organizer and is been protesting and camping sense day one.

I really commend these people for their valiant efforts to make a point. It isn't easy to stay out there day in and day out and start the process over again. It does take this kind of devotion and heart to try and do that. I wonder how long this will take or better yet will these people give up. No change has happened in these events. Just a few days ago more than a hundred people were arrested for friendly protest and for what.

These are average people like you and me trying hard to get there jobs back. So far there have been know beatings of any kind in these protest thank goodness, but what will give that edge for police to do so. I had written a posted a few weeks ago showing protesters in Italy getting beaten by police. These were friendly protest and the government retaliated. For some of us that were alive to see civil rights know what I am talking about. It was until the assassination of Martin Luther King that people came and retaliated with violence. Hopefully it wont have get that way.

Right now people are just scared. Scared what will happen with there homes and there lives and the government has to do something. So all protesters stick with it and don't the man keep you down lol.

Free: Interesting

The recent post of Steve Jobs was both a challenge and a subject that really opened the idea of this subject. Seeing as how I didn't know a lot about Steve Jobs this made the assignment a tad difficult. Like I said before this assignment opened idea I have never had before. What would I do if this was my last day on earth?

When I started to write about this I had know clue what to write about. Mr.Jobs to me was another big shot with a lot of money and a cool invention to back it up. Don't get me wrong his technology is amazing, but I still didn't truly know this guy. However I did fined out that this guy never finished college. Which goes to show that some people are intelligent but are not meant for college. He was  a good example of doing something he loved no matter what.

For this assignment though made me think. What would I do if it was my last day on earth? I don't think I would be able to do all the things I wanted to do because I don't have millions of dollars like Mr. Jobs. Although I could still find a way to make it work. Its kind of hard to put myself in his shoes because I don't know what it feels like to have cancer and I don't want to, but it does give you something to think about. Shout out to the family my heart and prayers are with you. R.I.P Steve Jobs.

ME: Make It Last

Steve Jobs passed away October 5, 2011. Even with his final days he still managed to come up with more technology for our benefit. Things like the iPad, iPhone, and much more. A man with cancer who lived his life to the fullest and lived it like there was no tomorrow.

When I think of Steve Jobs, I think of man who has made some of the greatest equipment the world has ever seen. so why even after finding out he was diagnosed with cancer did he continue to work on such difficult projects. I would think rest is the most important with this certain disease, but there is a message this. His work and devotion proves to all of us that even in the eyes of death, never give up what you love.

I do sometimes wonder if new I was going to die what I would do. Honestly it's a pondering question. I spent almost two hours trying to figure out I would write about. Pondering I thought of the simple stuff. Go and travel the world, drive a sports car, or even spend a day with Morgan Freeman if I could. Steve Jobs spent his final days making things that he loved and went with a bang. Unfortunately I don't have stacks of money, but I do have something. As I was thinking I thought how brave Steve Jobs was. Not just making these incredible things for himself, but for us as well.

The thoughts in in his head must have been truly dramatic after hearing the news that you have disease that can kill you. The stress must have been tremendous. Constant questions flowing through his head, could I die any minute, what if it happens during an important meeting, I guess it didn't bother me. When I first heard of Steve Jobs cancer I thought he was just going to lay down and just die and give up a empire he worked so hard to build, but he didn't. Now he is a inspiring figure and now a inspiration of mine. I'm not going to lie I was freaking out over me dying when I was a kid. I always thought that I would live to be 300 or something, but after hearing about how they had predicted this before I was calm. I new it wasn't all bs though so I didn't think about it. Until I was twelve I thought death was in the best way I can put it, crappy. Later I understood that we all have our time on this planet and Steve Jobs shows us that however long that is, to make it last.

So  if I was to die,  I have to say I would would split it into three different things. Go to and see as  much of the world as I can, spend time with my family, and see a sunset for the last time. I would love to see all of the world but if I had to stop I would stop in probably Tokyo. Hopefully my grandparents will be there with me, I love them to death. And my choice of death would be flying over the Pacific Ocean and to see the sunset.
