Soon after the 9/11 attacks, some New Yorkers helped clean up the massive amount of rubble caused by the collapse of the World Trade Centre towers.
Ten years ago to this Sunday, America was attacked by the tragedy of 9/11. Terrorist invaded our country and for the people of New York, their home. Trying to crush our spirits and a body count so high people can't even remember.
September 11, 2001, that was the date when our friends and family died. How could they do this? Was it something we said or something we are? These are questions we ask our selves everyday after this horrible incident. The answer is that America more powerful. Osama bin Laden did what he could to break our spirits as a people, now he has gotten what he deserved. But has the American people recovered this atrocity? I still believe the answer to that is no. But that isn't to say people stood there and watched.
When 9/11 struck people were in aww. Police were clearing the streets, making sure people were at safe distance and out of harms way. Over 400 firefighters trying to put it the fires. Volunteers trying to remove the ruble from the bodies of the injured or dead individuals. But not everyone was a simple volunteer or fireman one man was a stage actor and director by the name of Andrew Phelps. He was a witness to the falling of the twin towers. Andrew was someone trying to help so he went down help the survivors. Phelps would go back to school and is now a manager of an emergency dispare unit in New Mexico.
Mr.Phelps is a keen example of someone with no training what so ever in police work or rescue operations and chose to help. Anybody can make a difference regardless of race, job status, or class. It is moments like 9/11 when America needs to band together and cope with each other and this sunday we all must band together and respect the morning of our fiends and family.
